Dear Mothers,

It's the weekend, and I want you to know how much you are loved and appreciated. You work tirelessly every day to take care of your little ones, your adult children, and everyone else who needs your support. But today, I want you to take a step back and think about yourself.

What are your plans for the weekend? Will you finally have the chance to lie in bed and catch up on your favorite show? Or are you dreaming of a trip to a tropical paradise, like the Maldives or Bora Bora? Whatever it is, I hope you find time to relax and recharge because you deserve it.

Motherhood is a full-time rewarding job, and it can be overwhelming at times. Between preparing your children for school, helping with homework, cooking delicious meals, cleaning, and playing games with them, it's easy to forget about your own needs. But I want you to remember that self-care is crucial. You can't pour from an empty cup; how many times have we heard that saying? So take the time to fill yours up with whatever you desire!

Take care of yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually. Talk to your closest friends, family, and significant others about your worries and fears. Surround yourself with people who uplift and encourage you. And if you need to, seek the help of a mental health therapist. Remember, there's no shame in asking for help.

Find time to exercise, whether it's a Pilates class, a walk in the park, or dancing in your living room. Take care of your physical health, and don't forget to rest and relax.

Finally, nourish your spirit. Pray, meditate, and connect with the things that bring you peace and joy. Take a break from the chaos of everyday life and focus on the things that are unique to you—that center and fill you up.

Sis, I want you to know that you are loved, appreciated, and valued. Take care of yourself this weekend, and let us know in the comments how you plan to prioritize your mental, physical, and spiritual health. You certainly deserve it!

Thank you Latoya for this gratifying and uplifting message. So far my weekend is going very well thanks to your encouragement. I took your advice and asked my therapist for help in navigating my insecure and unreasonable thoughts. To this, she advised me to practice daily Mindfulness, I intend to do so through prayer. She also advised me to be more intropective and thin rationally about the negative thoughts that often cone to me as opposed to thinking about them emotionally, which leads to ruminating and self sabotage.

A lot of what she said mirrors what you tell me all the time. Thanks for always being one step ahead of this journey of mine and for always pointing me…
